I can't even lie, I am the QUEEN of starting workout programs & not finishing them! I have this problem you see, I want to see results.. FAST and I seem to get bored.. FAST! I know I am not alone…
There are so many programs out there that have catchy titles that include words such as: "5 Minute Abs" or "Melt Your Muffin Top in 7 Days" or "Build a Booty" with a list of 5 exercises and a picture of a girl who has probably worked years to get her booty or she was blessed with a butt! You see, none of these programs actually work in 5 minutes or 7 days.. it takes time!! More than 5 minutes unfortunately! I am not saying these programs don't help your results BUT it takes more than exercise to melt a muffin top & it takes more than 5 exercises to build a booty…
I often find programs that would actually work if I dedicated myself to the 3 month time span. At first I'm gung-ho and ready to do work! Then, slowly the motivation for the program fades and I get bored usually at the one month mark. I don't stop working out but I always vier off the plan for about 1-2 weeks then I'm like "Oh man, I should get back to that!" My problem is I start over.. all the way from the beginning because I feel like I have to, so it turns into a vicious circle!
Here's my question: How do I get over the hump & just stick with it?! I know, I know most of you are thinking "Duh, just keep going with the plan!!" I know that.. I'm talking about my motivation for the plan.. where do I find that at the 4 week mark?!
I know many people that have their certain body parts that they work out on the same day every week. I can't do that, I constantly need change in the gym!! I need new exercises, new routines, new classes.. unfortunately this is not working and I think I know why… MY DIET! (insert dramatic gasp here)
People think working out is the hard part, FALSE! Meal prep & what you eat is the hard part! I watch my husband meal prep almost on a daily basis.. Man, he's got the motivation of a beast let me tell ya! I know what needs to be done, I just don't have the self discipline to do it.
Now for the real test: Can I stick to an 80/20 meal plan?! You will find out! I will be posting my "before" pictures in my next blog to help keep me accountable & in 1 month of "clean" eating I will post my "after" pictures.. The struggle is real people, stay tuned to see if I make it!!

My, How Goals Change!
While drinking my coffee this morning I was just looking over the goals I have set for myself for 2015. Being almost a month into the new year, I wanted to track my progress so far. Then, I came onto my blog and looked at one of the very first blogs I had wrote about my goals in 2012! My how they have changed!! Some of them I am still working on and some of them I never met. One example: Become a CrossFit Girl. When I lived in Colorado, that's all I wanted!! I thought (and still think) that CrossFit Girls are amazing!
Over the last three years things have changed including myself! We got out of the Army, moved home to Wisconsin, I went from a Stay At Home Mom to a Working Mom (Yes, I capitalized both of those titles because they are both amazing and difficult jobs!), trying to balance my new routines with the kids schedules and the hubby's schedule, house chores, and just life! lol Needless to say, while trying to get used to our new life the gym got put on the back burner for almost a year! My main job & highest priority in life is being a great Mother and a Wife. I've always felt that way, but after really realizing it my goals changed and my outlook on somethings changed also.
Here are my goals from 2012 goals in Blue how I feel now in Pink:
6. To be a CrossFit Girl! (Not a priority anymore, I still admire the crap outta them though!)

Here are my goals from 2012 goals in Blue how I feel now in Pink:
Short Term Goals
1. Eat Clean! I’m good with this one 3 out of 4 weeks in the month! The 4th week all I want is chocolate! lol (still a work in progress! Eating clean is one of my biggest challenges!)
2. Continue to do my weekly routine at the Gym. (check!)
3. To up my weights every week. (important but again, not a priority)
4. Push myself daily to get the most out of my workouts. (still doing this)
5. Instead of weighing myself, look in the mirror and see the progress I’ve made & be happy with myself & what I’m doing! (I have a serious problem with the scale, I wish we would've never bought one! It's an evil little thing that doesn't measure success but leaves you disappointed & down usually!)
Long Term Goals
1. I want to be a Runner! I want to be able to run at least a 5k without stopping! (I have now realized that you can be a runner no matter how fast or slow you're going, if you're running.. YOU'RE A RUNNER! Check!)
2. I want to have lean, sexy muscles! (Still working on it! Some areas are better than others!)
3. I want to be a fitness role model for other women! (maybe I am?! I don't know)
4. I want to be fit & healthy! (again, it's a never ending process)
5. I want to finish all 3 phases (currently on phase 1 week 3) of Jamie Eason’s LiveFit Program! (never finished!! My biggest problem, I start a program, get bored and never finish!)
Now onto my 2015 Fitness/Health goals, when I wrote these, I didn't even think of my previous goals. Like I mentioned before, my outlook on somethings have changed and you will be able to tell by my goals. Here they are:
- Clean up my eating 80/20.. I have 3 kids, a husband on Competition prep. You'd think this would be easy! It's not!
- Workout at least 3 times per week. So far been good with this one!
- Be bikini ready by June 1st!! I guess we'll see June 1st! ;)
- Try new things at the gym! This is a HUGE one for me, I'm so worried about what people are thinking.. who gives a crap!
- Realize that this is a day at a time process, it is going to take time, dedication, hard days, easy days but I WILL get there!! One day at a time!
